Apache Ignite 2.14 RELEASE [Time, Scope, Manager]
Dear Ignite Community!
I suggest starting Apache Ignite 2.14 release activities.
We've accumulated a hundred resolved [1] issues with new
features and bug fixes which are waiting for their release date. For
example,
- bunch of Calcite based SQL engine fixes and improvements;
- thin clients improvements;
- fixes at the core: update counters, binary meta, etc.
I want to propose myself to be the release manager of the planning release.
I propose the following timeline:
Scope Freeze: August 17, 2022
Code Freeze: August 24, 2022
Voting Date: September 7, 2022
Release Date: September 14, 2022

Hi Taras,
If there are enough improvements for 2.14.1, I don't mind it. Otherwise -
there's no point
in making a release for this specific bug.

My apologies.
A blocking performance issue has been fixed [1]. And the release candidate is verified and ready to be voted on. What do you think about the 2.14.1 release, or can the fix wait until 2.15?

Hello Igniters,
I know I'm late, but is there a chance to add one more fix to the scope?
It is very local and fixes and issue, brought to us in user-list recently,
where PDS
defragmentation simply doesn't work on Windows, because we don't close file
descriptors properly.
This code will not affect anything other than the defragmentation process
itself.

Release Date: September 28, 2022
I delayed code freeze for two weeks because there is bunch of important patches for the release that require a bit of time to finalize (see unresolved issues for the release).
