Attached patch adds explanations on how current scoring function is derived from VSM.
I hope it is not to "colorful", and that it indeed clarifies rather than confuses.
I marked it for 2.9, because if others like it I think it would be good to include it, but if there is no concenzus on this modification let's move it to a future release.
