HTTPS Protocol

Hi,

I would like to know whether the Jackrabbit library can manage the htpps
protocol.
Typically I tried to run a file copy as described in this 
http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/WebDAV tutorial , switching the http url
by an existing https one. It does not work but i don't know if it is
supposed to! I got the final status code 302.

Is there any known solution to this issue?
