Difference between sa FreeBSD and Debian GNU/Linux local.cf
Hello all
In my FreeBSD-installation the directives in the file
/usr/local/share/spamassassin/user_prefs seem to be processed while
under Debian /usr/share/spamassassin/user_prefs got ignored (worked
after renaming the file to "local.cf"). Now... I guess the latter is the
way it's supposed to be while the first configuration just worked by
coincidence. Right?
Regards
Peter

* In that directory only .cf files should be read. That suggests the
FreeBSD installation was behaving badly. The "user_prefs" file belongs
in each users ~/.spamassassin directory along with the bayes files.
By the way, local.cf belongs in /etc/mail/spamassassin or the equivalent
configuration directory on your FreeBSD install. That's the directory
for system unique configurations. The local.cf file is the basic options
for your system.
