As discussed with Mario, the fix to this bug should be:

In LocalFile.getType() a new condition should be added:
if(isUnix() && !isFile() && !isDirectory()) {
return FileType.FILE;
}

While not 100% correct, this honors the fact that nearly everything in Unix is a
file (unless it is a directory).
