   Ah, my bad - I think I should have not updated the version here; if it's easier we can always revert the version number in the R `DESCRIPTION` file and keep the entries?

   Ah, we may have a problem with `post-10-bump-versions.sh` but let's fix it manually when `post-10-bump-versions.sh` causes a problem. I can help it.

   @kou could it be that merging this PR before closing the release (and executing the `post-10-bump-versions.sh`) breaks the [Source Release and Merge Script](https://github.com/apache/arrow/actions/runs/24659499398/job/72101457046?pr=49801) tests?
   I can see this in main and PRs and I think this is the only thing that could affect:

   After merging your PR, Conbench analyzed the 3 benchmarking runs that have been run so far on merge-commit c7cb411f9824a494a9e49305537e2935eea5ec43.
   
   There were no benchmark performance regressions. 🎉
   
   The [full Conbench report](https://github.com/apache/arrow/runs/72066353807) has more details. It also includes information about 2 possible false positives for unstable benchmarks that are known to sometimes produce them.

   I've run `$ dev/release/post-10-bump-versions.sh 24.0.0 25.0.0` successfully. I'll take a look if I see CI failures or something strange but the local run was succesful.
