serf in -deps tarballs
We don't currently include serf in the deps tarballs. Should we?

We also do not include SASL. Same question.

I've gone ahead and added serf in r30234.

Maybe he changed his mind, but the question on including serf in the
deps tarball was already asked before:

Building Subversion with serf on Windows is actually very easy. On
Windows our build process will build serf for you as part of the
normal build process. So I agree we ought to include it for Windows
if we decide to include it in deps.
I seem to recall that cmpilato was against including Serf in our deps
tarball until the ra_serf layer respected our Editor API. To put
words in his mouth, I imagine he would view including Serf in the deps
tarball as elevating it from "experimental" to "official" and if it is
official it needs to follow the API rules.

Serf supports both and building subversion with serf on windows is not
harder than without, so please do.

Okay. Should we include it for Windows and *nix?

I'll go ahead and add serf to the dist scripts, and we can update the
version when you release 0.2.

AFAIC we should. The latest serf tarball can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/serf/downloads/list
Note, we still hope to get a new serf release 0.2 out in coming week(s), which
is required to use all the new ra_serf features added in 1.5. This has been
proposed and discussed a few days ago:
