Base questions for 4.0

Hello,
Will OO 4.0 use HSQL 2.x as base's DB? Is anyone looking to create help
docs for this?

done by former developers, but I don't know the state of such task.

Updating to 2.x is not just dropping the new zip there and building; the
subject is rather complex, and the developers who were in charge for the
Base code (this includes dbaccess, connectivity, reportdesign,
reportbuilder) no longer work in OpenOffice; without people contributing
code I doubt it will go any further (even a trivial fix like
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121754 demands someone in
the know to sit and do it), so I assume that no, 4.0 will have the same
version as 3.4.*
