Bug (?) : Page Numbering and problem.
Hello all,
I'd been using fop-0_18_1 with the docbook stylesheets to produce
PDF documents.
I've upgraded to the lastest CVS fop and I've noticed that
my page numbering is behaving differently. (I am using
fop within the Cocoon2 framework)
The DocBook stylesheets, at each <chapter>, emit a
<fo:page-sequence>
The very first <chapter> includes the attribute initial-page-number="1"
and additional <chapter> elements do NOT include this attribute.
What I'm seeing is that with the latest fop, the page numbers are
being reset to "1" at every <chapter> (ie. each <fo:page-sequence>).
This was not the behaviour under fop-0_18_1. The page numbers just
continued sequentially along from 1 to N and not being reset
to "1" at each <fo:page-sequence>.
I'd think that the behaviour of NOT resetting the page numbers (ie. as
fop-0_18_1 did) would be the proper behaviour. `
If an example FO is required, I can put one together to show this
behaviour.

You can have it.
I'll try to concentrate on the svg stuff at the moment.

Hi, Keiron
I took a quick look at this already, and arrived at the same conclusion. I
only had about 30 minutes available when I was looking at it, so I didn't do
anything about it, as the fix does entail some careful work.
Do you want to grab ownership, or shall I?

If the variable is static then it can cause the page numbers to start at a
random number if two documents are being processed at the same time server
side.
It appears that it should be a variable on the document level rather than
the page-sequence level, so that it doesn't cause this sort of problem.
