asfimport opened a new issue, #42277:

   There's a number of roadblocks to using a 3rd-party gcc toolchain with clang 3.7.x or 3.8.x. I took care of this in Arrow in https://github.com/apache/arrow/commit/a3e3849cde60f611ea47271f510a96c2f36606a7
