build hbase runtime from src
Hi, I want to build an hbase runtime from src file. When I used mvn
package, all the dependencies jars are downloaded into the local .m2
repository.
I want to build an hbase runtime like what is downloaded from the Apache
mirror (e.g. hbase-0.98.4-hadoop2-bin.tar.gz
<http://mirrors.gigenet.com/apache/hbase/hbase-0.98.4/hbase-0.98.4-hadoop2-bin.tar.gz>).
How can build a self-contained runtime from HBase src package (
hbase-0.98.4-src.tar.gz
<http://mirrors.gigenet.com/apache/hbase/hbase-0.98.4/hbase-0.98.4-src.tar.gz>)?
Thanks.
Regards
Yun

Yes, I missed that place. It works greatly, and thanks.

The command should
generate hbase-assembly/target/hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT-bin.tar.gz
In the tar ball you would find (top of the output, for brevity):
TYus-MacBook-Pro:1-hbase tyu$ tar tzvf
hbase-assembly/target/hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT-bin.tar.gz | grep '\/lib'
drwxr-xr-x 0 0 0 0 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/
drwxr-xr-x 0 tyu staff 0 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/
drwxr-xr-x 0 tyu staff 0 Jun 30 21:25
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/irb/
drwxr-xr-x 0 tyu staff 0 Jun 30 21:25
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/shell/
drwxr-xr-x 0 tyu staff 0 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/shell/commands/
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 38726 Jun 30 21:25
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/admin.rb
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 1952 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/hbase.rb
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 3449 Jun 30 21:25
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/replication_admin.rb
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 8059 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/security.rb
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 23695 Jul 23 17:53
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/table.rb
-rw-r--r-- 0 tyu staff 4459 Jun 30 21:25
hbase-0.99.0-SNAPSHOT/lib/ruby/hbase/visibility_labels.rb
Cheers

Running the script "mvn clean install -DskipTests assembly:single
-Prelease" did not generate a place that have all the dependency jars. I
did not see a libs directory generated as in the binary package. Btw, my
src package is from branch1 or 0.99-SNAPSHOT.
Thanks for the reference.

See http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#maven.release
mvn clean install -DskipTests assembly:single -Prelease
Cheers
