[VOTE] Apache Nutch 1.2 Release Candidate #2

Hi Folks,

I have posted a 2nd release candidate for the Apache Nutch 1.2 release. The
source code is at:

http://people.apache.org/~mattmann/apache-nutch-1.2/rc2/

For more detailed information, see the included CHANGES.txt file for details
on release contents and latest changes. The release was made using the Nutch
release process, documented on the Wiki here:

http://bit.ly/d5ugid

A Nutch 1.2 tag is at:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/nutch/tags/release-1.2/

Sami Siren previously indicated to integrate RAT into the build, but I
haven't had a chance to do it yet. If someone else has time, or wants to,
please go ahead and I'd be happy to roll another RC.

Please vote on releasing these packages as Apache Nutch 1.2. The vote is
open for the next 72 hours.

Only votes from Nutch PMC are binding, but folks are welcome to check the
release candidate and voice their approval or disapproval. The vote passes
if at least three binding +1 votes are cast.

[ ] +1 Release the packages as Apache Nutch 1.2.

[ ] -1 Do not release the packages because...

Thanks!

Cheers,
Chris

P.S. Here is my +1.

+1. The whole crawling cycle works as it should.

The only caveat is the Solr indexing - it works well with Solr 1.4.0
(that's the libs that we use for the build) and with Solr 1.4.1.
However, it does NOT work with either Solr branch_3x/ or trunk/ - the
SolrJ javabin protocol is incompatible.

Hi,

Sorry folks, I mistakenly created the release-1.2 tag, when in fact, I just needed to roll the branch-1.2. You can find the latest RC branch for 1.2 at:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/nutch/branches/branch-1.2

I'll roll another 1.2 RC tomorrow (or maybe even tonight) and call a VOTE. If that gets 3 PMC +1s, I'll create an official release-1.2 tag at the below URL and we'll move fwd.

Note to self: clean up Nutch release process now that I've done it like 3-4 times. I have a good idea of how it should work.

Cheers,
Chris
