[jira] [Commented] (DRILL-2628) sqlline hangs and then asserts when
trying to execute anything on a dead JDBC connection
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-2628?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14388862#comment-14388862 ]
Daniel Barclay (Drill) commented on DRILL-2628:
-----------------------------------------------
If DRILL-2628 is because a connection gets closed but still used, then the hanging part will be fixed by the fix for DRILL-2565. (There should be an exception rather than just a hang.)

> Key: DRILL-2628

> Project: Apache Drill
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Client - JDBC
> Affects Versions: 0.8.0
> Reporter: Victoria Markman
> Assignee: Daniel Barclay (Drill)
>
> Here is what I'm observing:
> 1. Start drill
> 2. Start sqlline
> 3. Run couple of queries
> 4. Bounce drill
> 5. Run in sqlline: "use dfs.temp"
> It hangs and after some time throws an exception:
> {code}
> 0: jdbc:drill:schema=dfs> use dfs.joins_views;
> java.lang.AssertionError

> Comment on a dead JDBC connection is a speculation on my part. I don't know what is actually happening.
