best way to share a velocity servlet between webapps?

I'd like to use a velocity servlet from one webapp in another - the only 
difference is that I want to return a different template in the second 
webapp.

The existing servlet loads its template resources from a relative path - 
the second one will have to get its template from the second webapp's 
resources.


Is there a preferred way of handling this?
