regarding custom tasks

Hi Lenyans,

I have read the addition of custom tasks using lenya. 
so I have created the a simple java files which i have put under
a target in targets.xml . I also have written it under the publish task of the
tasks.xconf. and the type i have referred it as ant task. 
But when ever i publish this doesnt work. neither throws any errors or exceptions.
How do i invoke a java class from the tasks file..
