The second session of the community event activities

Hi, every guy, I am pleased to inform you that the second session of the
community event activities in the first stage of the election event has
ended, through a week of voting window period, we are actively involved in
which the community gathered a lot of participants to vote. By counting the
number of votes and the number of participants, the main candidates for
some of the projects are currently selected and are now open for the
results of the ballot papers.
The responsibility of these candidates is to promote the specific
implementation of each project, including:
1)the development of project plans,
2)control project progress
3)regularly summarize the progress of the project.
But more importantly, each candidate is responsible for helping each
participant to join the community better with the project. Now for each
project candidates to publicize

[Big Data]
Name: Xin Wang
Preferred: Storm/Spark/Flink (Especially Apache Storm)

[Client SDK]
Name: ZhiFeng Hu
Preferred: PHP

Name: WenFeng Wang and StyleTang
Preferred: Go

Name: Suwen Kuang
Preferred: C++

[Data Replication]

Name: Rick Zhang
Preferred: Redis

Name: Qun Zhao
Preferred: MySQL

Now all the project repos are here: https://github.com/apache/incu
bator-rocketmq-externals, All submissions are made in PR form

First of all, congratulations to all of the above candidates, you are to
guide everyone to actively participate in the open source community paved.
Followed by a brief introduction to the next stage of the activities of the
arrangements
Each candidate needs to develop a detailed design for the responsible
project and submit it to the community, which will be shared by everyone
and receive a wide range of recommendations. Wait until after the proposed
reunification. It began to enter the formal implementation phase of the
project. Each participant in the community can choose part of the
development work according to his own specialty and preferences. In the
case of all the problems encountered, please use the user list or dev list
to communicate. Please do not hesitate to encounter problems, contact us in
time, waiting for everyone

At last, we recommend the following schedule:
1) A week of project proposals
2) A week to discuss project proposals in the community
3) A month for project development

The whole project to promote the process, we will fully support and review.
That's all, Thanks

Re: The second session of the community event activities

Posted by Xin Wang <da...@gmail.com>.
@yukon Great! Let's fight side by side.

And now there are three jira issues for this. I guess you may missed
FLINK-5726.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ROCKETMQ-82
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-5726
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-7466

The Flink Committers recommend putting it in Apache Bahir repo, but I think
https://github.com/apache/incubator-rocketmq-externals may be a better
choice. So I will commit my code to incubator-rocketmq-externals.

Thanks,
Xin

Re: The second session of the community event activities

Posted by Xin Wang <da...@gmail.com>.
@yukon Great! Let's fight side by side.

And now there are three jira issues for this. I guess you may missed
FLINK-5726.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ROCKETMQ-82
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-5726
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-7466

The Flink Committers recommend putting it in Apache Bahir repo, but I think
https://github.com/apache/incubator-rocketmq-externals may be a better
choice. So I will commit my code to incubator-rocketmq-externals.

Thanks,
Xin

Hi devs,

I'd like to update the status of integrating streaming projects.
I'm sorry for the delay because of the change of my job. Now I guess I can
pick them up :)

* For RocketMQ-Storm: the PR[1] has been merged to Storm master, and will
be released in Apache Storm 2.0.
* For RocketMQ-Spark-Streaming: the work of merging these PRs[2][3] into
one has been completed. But it still need more tests before used in
production enveronment.
* For RocketMQ-Flink: work is in progress.
* Ideas on Avro, Schema-Registry is also on the way.

People who take interest in these please join me. And people who have
worked on these please let me know, we can work together. Thanks.
