with current implementation of 
$ hadoop dfsadmin -setBalancerBandwidth <bandwidth in bytes per second> 

only shows following message in DN log 

 INFO org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.datanode.DataNode: DatanodeCommand action: DNA_BALANCERBANDWIDTHUPDATE

But it would be nice to have the value of <new bandwidth in bytes per second> be displayed in DN log or any other
suitable place, so that we can have a track.
