Returning an array of objects

Hi all,

This should be a simple thing but we're having some problems figuriong 
this out.

Could someone give me a pointer to where I can find out how to code a 
service that returns an array of objects and also the client side code 
for calling this service.

So far my searches have proved fruitless - some snippets of code would 
be great.
