[jira] Commented: (COCOON-1833) Make OSGi-based Cocoon useable from within servlet containers

Posted by "Daniel Fagerstrom (JIRA)" <ji...@apache.org>.

Daniel Fagerstrom commented on COCOON-1833:
-------------------------------------------

The current work is based on Felix. So a webapp embedding of the Felix framework corresponding to the Eclipse one (http://www.eclipse.org/equinox/server/http_in_container.php) would be nice. Felix is designed to be easily embedded (http://felix.apache.org/site/launching-and-embedding-apache-felix.html) so with some inspiration from the Eclipse work it would probably not be to complicated to implement.

Now, the OSGi-ification of the Cocoon blocks is supposed to work with any OSGi framework. But for builds and examples it is easier to focus on one framework.
