Debian/Ubuntu packages?
We're about to get TomEE installed through puppet.
To prevent undue pain, does anyone know of an ubuntu packaging script that
turns the tomee tarball into a .deb?

You may have already come across this but in case you have not:

May ease the packaging pain (not used it myself (yet..)).

Yeap... it's a working in progress.
I'm having issues having it to follow the strict debian rules for packaging.
Here is what we currently have:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tomee/sandbox/tomee-deb/
I'm not active in this task now... I should be back in a few weeks though.
If someone want to take over or give any help, that would be very welcome.

Yep agree. But at least if we could have a set of scripts... Don't know.

The main issue is having them in a repo, not sure apache has one...that s
why we dont offcially do it I think.

They have been some shoot to get that and users succeed as far as I recall.
Maybe Thiago did it as well for Ubuntu.
We don't have scripts but I'll you wanna contribute them we can maybe add
them to our SCM.
