[PROPOSE] Remove lists from nabble

With the amount of spam arriving at our lists through nabble, I am
inclined to remove our affiliation with nabble altogether. While this
sucks for some users, I (and I guess most of us) have no inclination
to start policing a 3rd party that doesn't bother to implement a
simple, decent and effective anti-spam solution.

Cleaning up nabble would take serious work and time, better spent at
doing work for the codebase.

WDYT?

Martijn

I would be glad to help you remove spams as they come.

Regards,

Gabriel.

Hi Martijn,

I don't receive much (any?) spam on this list.
If you refer to the spam posts on the Nabble forum, they don't bother me
too much as I don't use their user interface.
Why don't you grant some Nabble users authorization to clean up there,
if they want to? Put a disclaimer on the front page calling for volunteers.

Note that if we decided to remove the lists from Nabble, anyone could
re-register them the following day on their account.

Regards
Sven

Do we have any control over Nabble configuration? Can we just stop them
from displaying any messages that were not accepted by the ML? Deleting a
bunch of moderation requests every now and then doesn't bother me - it
seems the folks using Nabble are the ones most affected since they see
those posts as if they were real posts.
