[jira] Closed: (MNG-728) Consider using java.net.useSystemProxies

John Casey closed MNG-728.
--------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

I'm not willing to take a chance on this code without tests, particularly when all available reports indicate that there is little or no upside effect to this patch.

If we're hungry to get this stuff integrated, we need to have patches that provide full testing, i.e. comprehensive unit tests or integration tests. Also, we need a much better indication that JDK 1.6/1.7/1.whatever actually does something beneficial with this configuration.

If you can provide ALL of this information, THEN reopen the issue. Otherwise, the patches that are given are insufficient.
