Juddi users: Try out Apache juddi with LDAP backend ...

Juddi developers and users:

I have posted an LDAP implementation for Apache juddi Authenticator and
Datastore as a New Feature request for Apache juddi at
http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/browse/JUDDI-16.

It uses LDAP user objects for authentication for authenticated
operations like UDDI Publish APIs, as well as manages UDDI entities in
LDAP Server backend.

You can download and install OpenLDAP from
http://www.openldap.org

An installable version of OpenLDAP for Windows is available at:
http://www.ilex.fr/openldap/

Once you install OpenLDAP, go through the Apache juddi-LDAP README doc
attachment for steps to configure Apache juddi with OpenLDAP. If you
have any queries on the deployment, post it on this mailing list and I
would be happy to answer them.

Steve, Srinivas,

I have zipped up and submitted the 'UDDI LDAP backend implementation'
code as a 'New Feature' request for juddi. The key assigned by JIRA
system is JUDDI-16.

It has 3 attachments including a README, the zipped up Source code and
the juddi.war file built from the source code.

regards
Vijay

Vijay,

All you need is a Jira account which you can set up yourself.

 http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/secure/BrowseProject.jspa?id=10401
 (click the login link)

PS: We just call him "Dims". He's got that one word name thing going
on
- like "Sting" or "Prince". ;)

Srinivas, Steve,

I have FAX'ed my CLA (on 22/3) and the Software Grant form today
(2/4).
Is there any way we can confirm receipt of this ?

I am almost ready with the integrated code - in a few days (max a
week)
from now, I plan to ZIP up the code and send it. Do I need some
account
to put the ZIP'ed code on the bug tracking system ?

regards
Vijay

Vijay,

When you are ready, fill up the " Contributor License Agreement (CLA)"
and the "Software Grant" form at http://www.apache.org/licenses/ and
follow the instructions on the form. Then zip up the code and add it
the
bug tracking system. Let everyone look at the code then decide what
the
next step would be.

Thanks,
dims
