Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MAVEN-1318
Summary: validation-global.xml and validation.xml
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Major
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Versions:
1.0-rc3
Assignee:
Reporter: mohan chinnappan
Created: Fri, 11 Jun 2004 9:40 PM
Updated: Fri, 11 Jun 2004 9:40 PM
Environment: Linux, Windows
Description:
Generated validation.xml says :
<!--
Define global validation config in validation-global.xml
-->
But where to put this validation-global.xml and formset definitions file.
I have tried both merge and conf directories; maven is not picking it up from those two dirs.
Is it a bug or I am missing something.
PS:
Also, 1.0r3 comes the following error but continues the build process:
===============================================================
Tag library requested that is not present: 'maven' in plugin: 'maven-xdoclet-plugin-1.2'
================================================================
Regards,
Mohan

I don't understand the first part of this - it seems unrelated to maven. The warning you saw later is just a warning, not a problem.
