Sounds right to me.  -x disables spamc covering your ass.  Try host1, if the
exit code indicates that host1 didn't scan it try host2 yourself.  For the next
message (and for some amount of time) don't even bother with host1 and skip
right to host2 first.

But what -x is supposed to do is not let spamc pass the message through 
unchecked. It is supposed to check all the hosts and then fail if it 
can't process it. The -x switch is not supposed to keep the -d switch 
from using all listed hosts.
