Redirectors and external webservers

Hi All,

1. In the case where the external webserver is configured to use SSL - the comm between tomcat redirector and the tomcat servlet engine is not SSL right?

2. In the case where the webserver is in a DMZ  the tomcat redirector ports need to be opened to allow redirection of requests to the tomcat server right? Wont admins be hesitant to open non standard ports?
