given in the command line but not in the config file
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49738
Summary: Apache silently fails if ServerRoot is given in the
command line but not in the config file
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.2.14
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: All
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: ccomb@free.fr
Take a working configuration of Apache, remove the ServerRoot directive, and
try to start apache by giving the ServerRoot with the -d option.
Apache does not start, but there is no more information, even with the highest
