-----------------------------------

Hello!

How is this issue coming along? I've been talking to some PLC experts at our factory and it seems like symbolic addressing is getting increasingly popular and may even replace the current addressing format in the future.

I've looked at some Wireshark dumps on the communication between one of our proprietary softwares and S7 PLC using symbolic addressing and it indeed seems like the payload is encrypted and Wireshark doesn't detect the packets as S7 protocol.

> Currently we only support direct addressing. However usually symbolic addressing is used where a variable or memory area is represented via a symbolic name and TIA takes care of compiling the symbol table when compiling the PLC program.
> Unfortunately a description of this symbolic addressing is nowhere to be found.
