+This is the archive area for components that are no longer maintained in SVN.
+
+It is intentionally read-only except as needed for moving components.
+
+When a component moves to a new source code repository, the SVN source tree is moved here.
+The original SVN parent directory is empyied of all content except for a README file
+which points to the new source code repo (e.g. Git)
+
+For example, Commons Math now uses Git.
+The original location for Math was under commons/proper/math
+It moved to commons/_moved_to_git/math
+Note that the directory commons/proper/math still exists, but only contains a README file.
