[users@httpd] Mass Virtual Hosting Question

Hi, 

I love the idea of mass virtual hosting, the only problem that i've
come accross so far is that the howto's dont seem to cover is :

if i have a domain for example domain.com 

and i would like to alias www.domain.com and for example
ftp.domain.com i have to create links currently with the setup
described on : http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/vhosts/mass.html

Is there any way to automatically forward all www. ( example ) of a
domain to the respective domain ?

Possibly mod_rewrite ?
