Officially, we're only applying security and data corruption
fixes to 1.7.x at this point.
I don't mind other fixes being backported and released, if there
are people who want to spend time nominating them and voting on them.
Exceptions to the above rule have certainly been made before.

Is this a critical bug fix? Doesn't seem to me to be a backport
candidate for 1.7.x.
