http://forrest.apache.org/tools/forrestbar.html provides a link to download and install the forrestbar. However, it does not install it, it opens the xpi the browser.
I suspect the mime-type is wrong.

What is the mime-type? I recently tried this in our .htaccess
AddType application/x-xpinstall .xpi
Aha, i found it. There are various versions of the forrestbar
at f.a.o/tools/ ...
forrestbar.xpi
forrestbar-0.8.xpi
forrestbar-0.7.xpi
For some reason the first two were not updated. Done now
but will be at least an hour until published.

I just wanted to come back on this one to tell you that even after the
release, the problem hasn't be solved :-)
I guess the xpi hasn't been updated. Tomorow, I will see if I can build it
myself.

I have it installed on 2.0.1, but I do install from SVN source, so I
guess the XPI has not been updated for a while.
It will be updated as part of our 0.8 release.

picture). This addon is (probably) not compatible with firefox 2.0+.
That's why I wanted to build it from scratch.

Resolution: Fixed
I tested this on two computers and it installs from Firefox 1.5 fine.
Although I can not see an SVN entry for this I don't think we will for
a props change which I think I remember seeing, so mime type
I think has been changed.
Please re-open if it doesn't work for you.
