Problems starting Tomcat 3.1 with Kaffe.

Hello :

My developer machine is a RedHat 6.0, and I can use Tomcat without
problems, using JDK 1.1.8
but my production envirotment is RedHat 5.2, I have a lot of thigs in
that machine and I want to avoid upgrating this machine. I can't install

any JVM but Kaffe 1.0.5 in that machine, is a hell machine.

It seems to works right, but when I try to run a jsp, I get that message
when tomcat tries to compile the source.

By the way, I try to send a binary file as a response to a post form, in
CGI I put a extrange mime type as x-download/my-type and send the file
to standar output. I have tried to do the same, but I don't know how I
can send the binary with the jsp page. Where can I get the answer?

Thanks

Odp: Problems starting Tomcat 3.1 with Kaffe.

Posted by Aleksander Grzebyta <ol...@talex.com.pl>.
The class sun.tools.javac.Main was not found. It is in classes.zip in JDK
1.1 and in tools.jar in JDK 1.2 if JDK is from Sun. Jasper must use Java
version of Java compier to compile JSP page to servlet class.

sincerely Olek
