[Fwd: ApacheCon 2005 - Meeting / Hackathon / Sprint?]

Sorry Gregor and Michi ... I'd swear your names haven't been there last
time I browsed the page! What are your plans? What days will you stay?

Regards,
Torsten

Dear all,

ApacheCon 2005 will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, from July 18th -
22nd 2005. I am posting the date again as Wolfgang throught they might
have changed it during the announcement phase. As far as I can see,
ApacheCon takes place in Europe only every five years, so missing this
one would mean the next chance will be 2010 or you'd have to go to
ApacheCon US 2006 in Las Vegas. (Ok, I could imagine worse things to do!)

Seriously:

They have chosen my "Lenya Hands-On Tutorial". It's scheduled for
Monday, 18th. Monday and tuesday will be tutorials only, the conference
as such will take place Wednesday till Friday.

From what I can see on the speaker's list
(http://apachecon.com/2005/EU/html/speakers.html), nobody else of us
will be giving a presentation there. (I hope I did not overlook any name
that should sound familiiar to me.)

Nevertheless my question would be if any of you plans to attend. If more
than just one or two except myself will be in Stuttgart it might be an
option to set up an informal meeting, a sprint or a hackathon. I would
be open on the weekend before or anytime Monday afternoon after I have
held my tutorial to probably Wednesday. I don't think I will stay any
longer than Wednesday night in Stuttgart. I know that J. Wolfgang Kaltz
does not have time on the weekend before unfortunately, but the
Monday-Wednesday corridor might be an option.

In case any of you plans to attend as an attendee note that they ask a
(in my opinion) substantial amount of money as a registration fee.

Regards,
Torsten

there usually is a ASF hackathon the first two days (which is free for
commiters to attend iirc).
