The _oak-lucene_ module contains abstractions and utilities that are Lucene agnostic and that would be useful in the new _oak-search_ module to be possibly reused by _oak-search_ implementors. 
One example is the aggregation code, but also the stored index tracking code and base test classes might be useful for other indexers.
