Guidance on Setting Up Apache Fineract On-Premise

Hi,

I am new to the Apache Fineract application and would appreciate your
guidance regarding the prerequisites for software and hardware requirements
to set up Apache Fineract on-premise. Are there any tutorials available for
setting up Apache Fineract on-premise?

I look forward to your response. Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Kaushal

I have follow-up questions regarding Mifos X and Apache Fineract. Is Mifos
X the frontend for Apache Fineract, which serves as the backend?
Additionally, is there any architecture diagram I can refer to?

Please advise.

Best regards,

Kaushal

Hi

I am not sure whether there is a step by step guide for that, but like i said you can start looking into the docker compose files of Fineract (you can find them in the root directory: https://github.com/apache/fineract) or you can play a little bit around manually deploy it and give it a test run.

You might found useful guides about how to setup manually with docker: https://fineract-academy.com/how-to-setup-fineract-with-docker.html and here are some list about common issues: https://fineract-academy.com/how-to-fix-common-issues.html

I would say the easiest path to have a running backend is the docker compose files.

Of course eventually there will be need for some customization and change in the default configuration, but lets not run ahead… With these informations you should be able to run the Fineract on your own machine with the default configuration.

Adam

Thanks Adam for the email response. I will appreciate it if you can point
me to the documentation regarding installation of Apache Fineract on Linux
based VM server.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kaushal,

Well it depends on what capabilities of Fineract you are looking for, but the docker compose files can be a really good starting point:
- you will find different configurations and deployments in the root directory and rest of the config in the "config/docker" directory.

The requirements are not complex either, what is needed for sure is a JRE since it is a java application. You need database, if there are multiple instances or communication needed with downstream systems, then JMS.

Based on your needs you can look for further help on this mail list, if it is not too complex, otherwise you might wanna look for a partner who can help to build the needed environment for you.
