Where to add PPMC member additions?
Hi,
reading http://incubator.apache.org/guides/ppmc.html, it says (towards
the end) to add new PPMC members to this SVN file:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers/board/incubator-info.txt
but, I get a 404 not found on that URL. Where do I add new PPMC members
for our project (Traffic Server) ? I'll update our incubator page with
the committer additions we're making, but I want to make sure I update
everything as required here.

It sounds like we need to update
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/ppmc.html at least? I have no
problems maintaining everything on the status page (we already do for
almost everything else), I was just wondering what to do here since the
guideline says to add it to this non-existing file :).

I'm not sure I've ever seen PPMC members listed anywhere, the only way
i've found them is from the subscribers to the poddlings private list.

Good Point.

And the "check list" approach in STATUS is also 'questionable'
compared to templated Jira Tasks (one for enter, one for exit, one for
start of life as TLP,...), with the whole set of sub-tasks needed,
that is much closer to home, and shows up in the face all the time if
not attended to.

I think that was a great idea, as it got people used to maintaining
the committee-info.txt file for after graduation.
There was later a drive to remove it and try the Status page idea,
which has been haphazard.

I don't recall the details of the discussion, but that the conclusion
was that each podling should have its mentors, committers, and PPMC
members listed on their own status page.

I don't know if there's a central file, my idea of it is that each
podling should keep its lists of committers, PPMC members and mentors
up to date on their status page (like
http://incubator.apache.org/projects/trafficserver.html) or (better
IMO) have that page point to lists on the podling's website.
Maybe that central file was removed because having it duplicates info
that should IMHO be on the podling's website.

Please keep the "Reporting Schedule" [1] and the
"Projects in Incubation" [2] tables up-to-date.
Or return to the "incubator-info.txt" file.
We do need some consistent and reliable information.

I concur with Bertrand as well, the STATUS page was consider 'master
authorative' and should be the only place kept up to sync (well, ASF
authorization is another)...
