[jira] Commented: (CHUKWA-434) encrypted posts to collector

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CHUKWA-434?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12793091#action_12793091 ]

Ari Rabkin commented on CHUKWA-434:
-----------------------------------

This has two parts: modifying the collector to optionally accept https, and modifying the agent to optionally send using it. Neither should be all that bad, since there is HTTPS support in both jetty and the apache HTTP client.

Key management is likely to be trouble.

> Optionally having SSL for the posts to collectors would make Chukwa more useful with agents and collectors separated by a wide-area network.
