[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-12737) More jenkins job executors for
PreCommit HIVE

Daniel Takamori commented on INFRA-12737:
-----------------------------------------
Ubuntu is the most widely used label, that is the standard for x64 Linux. This appears to be a combination of a lot of jobs coming from the pull requests and an average job length of ~3 hours. We have limited resources to spend on new build nodes, but are now looking at letting organizations provide nodes that we can connect to our Jenkins instance. In the meantime we can't really do anything else unless these jobs can be run in parallel.

> Can we request more executors (or a new node label) for the HIVE project on Jenkins?
> Hive has been too active these past months, and patches has been waiting in the Jenkins build queue too much due to executors not available. Currently, PreCommit-HIVE-Build uses the label 'Ubuntu" on 'Restrict where this project can be run'. Is there another label we can use or could we request a new label for Hive that has more nodes available?
> Thanks.
