[I] feat: Changes to Bitnami Image Catalog and Bitnami Chart [apisix]
Latandu opened a new issue, #12506:
URL: https://github.com/apache/apisix/issues/12506
### Description
Effective August 28th 2025, Bitnami Docker images catalog will stop being updated, therefore ETCD chart that APISIX depends on will stop working. Will APISIX chart be updated to no longer depend on it after this change?

According to [the etcd release description](https://github.com/etcd-io/etcd/releases/tag/v3.6.4#:~:text=etcd%20uses%20gcr.io/etcd%2Ddevelopment/etcd%20as%20a%20primary%20container%20registry%2C%20and%20quay.io/coreos/etcd%20as%20secondary), for the image we can use https://gcr.io/etcd-development/etcd or https://quay.io/coreos/etcd . There may be differences in functionality and security compared to what Bitnami offers.
For helm chart, we might have to wait for alternatives to emerge in the community.

Good question @Latandu, apisix supports 2 kinds of deployment: with ETCD and without ETCD. Refer to https://docs.api7.ai/apisix/production/deployment-modes
for bitnami etcd, @bzp2010 @moonming what do you think?

Are you refering to the experimental API-Driven Mode Ingress Controller? As of now, is it stable enough for implementing in production environments?

I second this. To deploy apache/apisix in Kubernetes, use apache/apisix-ingress-controller 2.0.0-RC3 first. Refer to https://docs.api7.ai/apisix/getting-started/ and https://docs.api7.ai/apisix/reference/apisix-ingress-controller/examples

@Latandu Hello, from my perspective:
1. https://github.com/apache/apisix-ingress-controller/releases/tag/2.0.0-rc3
2. I believe that the 2.0.0-related versions are at least in active development and will eventually be released. You can consider trying it out in advance to help discover more issues in your specific scenarios. At this stage, these issues will obviously be fixed faster and eventually merged into the stable version.

It looks like we have replaced all the images. If there are any omissions, please submit an issue description.
