I have tested this with the 4.1.27 binary and Norton Anti-virus 2003. I 
installed tomcat as a service, created a separate startup account for tomcat 
and NAV. After a reboot tomcat and NAV auto-protect were both working as 
normal.

If you are still having problems runing this as a service, I would suspect 
the 'other problems' you referred to may be the source.
