   Really interesting proposal.
   
   I totally agree with Jarek that this invites us to think on a larger scale to define "**how UI customization should look like in a modern web app environment ?**". 
   
   To be honest I haven't think about that part yet and all the implications cited above are fair points. On top of these I believe the ease of use for the end user is also a critical point (it should remain quite easy to extend the UI). In addition, how will we handle already existing plugins when migrating to a different implementation for these extensions ? An implementation with python code has the advantage of smoothing the migration process.
   
   For this particular proposal, if we bring this to core, then it kind of dodge the bullet as we will most certainly be able to do everything in react. Nonetheless this question remain very important for AIP-38 completion. (there is a few interesting proposal regarding this matter in AIP-38)
