[jira] [Commented] (ATLAS-1863) Set default value for primitive
types attributes in entity based on attributeDef in Typedef
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ATLAS-1863?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16138871#comment-16138871 ]
Pierre Padovani commented on ATLAS-1863:
----------------------------------------
IMHO - A default value implies that the field is 'not null' *NOT* optional. This implies that the field is required to have a value when the entity is created, just that user input of the field is optional. Having a default value set for an optional field just doesn't make that much sense to me, however having it set for a field that is required makes a little more sense but still doesn't quite work either.
