[jira] [Commented] (YARN-5528) Container still running when Resource Manager shutdown

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-5528?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15431111#comment-15431111 ]

Daniel Templeton commented on YARN-5528:

That doesn't sound right. If you have HA enabled, the RM is persisting application state. That means that when the standby RM takes over, it just picks up where the old RM left off. Are you using a custom AM?

> We are test the stability of our yarn application.
> We have firstly a container running, then shutdown the resource manager via Cloudera Web UI.
> The container is still running. Then the AM creates a new container in another node manager when the standby resource manager become active. Now we have two containers running at the same time.
> Is there anyway we can cleanup the old container when the standby resource manager become active?
> This looks similar to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-5527
