The NIO transport must handle the sudden and un-expected closure of keep-alive connections by external systems which may be under load
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: SYNAPSE-289
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SYNAPSE-289
Project: Synapse
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Transports
Affects Versions: NIGHTLY
Environment: Both on Windows and Linux, When talking to an external JBoss 4.2.2 server under load
Reporter: Asankha C. Perera
Assignee: Asankha C. Perera
Fix For: 1.2
When the NIO transport deals with external servers (such as JBoss), it defaults to using keep-alive connections. However, when an external system is under load, they have the freedom to abruptly close such keep-alive connections to ensure correct operation. The NIO transport needs to expect and handle this situation gracefully
