[jira] [Commented] (OAK-3150) Update Lucene to 6.x series
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-3150?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16153630#comment-16153630 ]
Vikas Saurabh commented on OAK-3150:
------------------------------------
[~teofili], it seems lucene provides an {{IndexUpgrader}} tool \[0]. I think one of the concerns here is that reindexing to new format might be expensive for the customers. I think/hope lucene's tool might be faster that reindexing from oak side.
PS: I looked at lucene6 migrate too \[1], but it doesn't specify anything in particular, so maybe the version5 {{IndexUpgrader}} is all we need.
PS1: I think this is the only issue we are tracking for moving to lucene 6. Please paste this info elsewhere if that's more relevant.

> We should look into updating the Lucene version to 6.x. Java 8 is the minimum Java version required
> Note this is to be done for trunk only
