reprocessing data

I just reprocesed data from finalArchives and did a record count and the newly processed stuff has less data than the original processing.  Is the finalArchives not an exact replica of the original *.done files?  I know a map reduce job aggregates them...is there a potential for data loss?

Is there a place in chukwa to get the original data that was fed into it?
