CAMEL and WebDAV ?
Hello
Does CAMEL support WebDAV?
Apart from that, which HTTP-based protocol would you recommend for
uploading, listing, dowloading and erasing files?
Cheers

Hi,
Did you start working on this issue? I might be interested in it, too.

I need this component for a project I'm developing at work. I've spoken to
my boss and he is optimistic about the company permitting me to release the
implementation to the Camel community.

Yeah definitely is a promising library. We was in talk with its
developer and a Camel community member wanted to write a camel-sardine
component.

Sardine looks like a promising apache licensed webdav client library that is
fairly new and under active development.

Feel free to do so. However I doubt we can do much unless there is a
good Open Source project with an Apache friendly license we can use
for the WebDAV stuff. But its nice to get on the JIRA for more

Milton is a server-side library. It looks like it needs a Servlet
container, so some work needs to be done in order to access it using the
Camel HTTP connector.

The camel-jcr is pretty limited, in particular it only has a producer.
In my opinion, the WebDAV connector should normally look like the FTP
connector.
Should I open a JIRA issue?

Hi
There is also Milton
http://milton.ettrema.com/index.html
Its Apache licensed so we can create a component for it and have it in
the Camel kit.
But I guess if JackRabbit is on the WebDav wagon you can maybe use camel-jcr?

Hi Ali,
Have you had a look to JackRabbit project. It proposes a WebDav
client/server
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/trunk/jackrabbit-webdav/README.txt
Maybe this could be helpful for you and camel community
Have a nice Christmas too.

Pity things didn't evolve since :(
On http://commons.apache.org/vfs/ I can see they have a good, easy to
connect WebDAV connector. But, it is still in SNAPSHOT form for some
reason that I don't understand.
For the server side, http://sourceforge.net/projects/webdav-servlet/
works pretty well. It is a servlet, without dependencies.
Anyways, have a nice Christmas
