mail backed up in spool folder

I'm a newbie regarding James 2.2.

We are running an Apache Tomcat application that uses James 2.2 as it's
email service. This is running on a Windows 2003 server.

There are several thousand outgoing email backed up in the
\james\apps\james\var\mail\spool folder and I can't seem to clear them. I
have restarted the James service twice and the backed up email keeps
growing.

I've got 4 delivery threads configured.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to resolve this backlog.
Also let me know if there is more information that I can provide to help
assist in the matter.

Thank you.

Thanks for your time and response. Unfortunately, we are using static IP
addresses. I'll keep looking.

Thank you.

Hi John,

I had a similar situation a while back because
I'm running James with a Dynamic IP.

I get a lot of "Email Harvesting" attempts on my
server
and James wants to send back messages
saying that there's no such account here.

However, since my address is dynamic, the people
that attempt harvesting also block the reply. So
I end up with a ton of stuff trying to go out.

I bumped the threads to 150 which helped a
little...but
in the long run I'm going to have to get a static IP
or smtp forwarding service.

Cheers,
- Ole
