I disagree about the point that trailers should be part of entity, because trailers are headers and entity doesn't contain them.
First of all this library is HTTP client not some kind of RMI with high abstraction.

Where is non-blocking transport code? I haven't noticed it.

I don't like Callable throws is handled either, but I don't know a better way. Could you refer the other approach?
How about a custom interface in the library which doesn't declare any exception?
